Volkswagen Passat Alltrack

Despite a moose accident and a number of other small boring events, the satisfaction with the Skoda Yetin was very high. But since the model has been around since 2009 and a facelift is due, the choice to look at something new felt completely logical. At first, an A4 Allroad was at the top of the list if we now think of cars that you can actually afford to buy, unfortunately this model also fell away once all the desired equipment was in place and the price was closer to a million than half a million. So after a trip with Volkswagen to Austria and the presentation of the new Volkswagen Passat Alltrack for the pieces in place and my next car was found!

Getting rid of the Yetin was not a problem and perhaps a too simple and costly route was taken by simply exchanging the car, with a private sale it would certainly have been possible to earn several thousand Swedish kroner, but on the other hand, the trouble that can be involved with a private sale was avoided. A small penny was made, however, thanks to the measures Yetin went through such as painted rims, foiling and some extra equipment.

The new Alltrack was ordered and with the belief that most of the options were done now waited six weeks before delivery. The specification of the car was a two liter diesel with 170 horses and with DSG box and four-wheel drive. The choice of color was about to be red as it is expected to be the next big color but after a bit of consideration this was changed to white as it is a smarter color to work with when shooting from one car to another, a red car would have given a red flash towards the other car. Among the options to make the car more comfortable are keyless locking and starting, electric tailgate, sunroof, reversing camera and remote engine heater.

The production date was set for June, but with the gratifying news of faster production, the delivery was already in mid-June. Immediately when the car was picked up, it was driven to Intera, where the old black-painted 20-inch rims with R8 look from Yetin were fitted. On the Yetin comfort clearly suffered from those large rims with low profile tires while happily the Alltrack swallowed them up much better. To give a personal look to this bestseller, AutoStripe was given free reign to come up with something with the car, but within certain limits and with the Yetin in mind. Black tack, tinted windows, stone chip protection and change the boring aluminum panels in the interior to carbon fiber. The result was really good and makes my Alltrack stand out from all the others considering how well it sells.

Good things:

*Bigger than the Yetin and much more comfort.

*Brand new model that should hold its value for a while so I don't have to change.

*Wonderful foil work that makes my pulse race.

Bad things:

*Missed some equipment that I would have liked but which I can of course do without.

*Haven't had time to drive the Ring with it and therefore no Ringen badge on the back.

*Some finesse that fans on the Yetin are not on the Alltrack, which feels strange.
