Rolls Royce Phantom

When it's the wedding day there's only one option to travel from the church in style, of course it's a Rolls Royce!

More than a hundred years ago, Charles Stewart Rolls and Fredrick Henry Royce started the venerable Rolls Royce brand. The English brand has since produced a number of car models that all had one thing in common, namely luxury. The first car produced was called the 10hp and was built between 1904 and 1906. Since 1998, BMW owns Rolls Royce in a somewhat complicated deal between Volkswagen who owned certain parts of the brand such as the radiator ornament called Sprit of Ecstasy. But as of 2002, BMW owns the full rights to Rolls Royce.

The Rolls Royce Phantom came in 1925 and replaced the classic Silver Ghost. The model was then produced in various versions until 1991 when it was considered too outdated and discontinued. But in 2003, a new Phantom came and it was the first under BMW auspices and built in the new factory in Goodwood. Its predecessor, the Silver Seraph, had then served between 1998 and 2002. The Phantom was designed by Ian Cameron and Marek Djordjevic. The engine is a V12 type of 6750 cubic meters with 460 horsepower and 720 Newton meters of torque. The Phantom is equipped with a number of finesse that cannot be found in any other car model. How about an umbrella that fits inside the doors. To prevent the umbrella from moulding, the material in the fabric is Teflon-coated and the compartment is electrically heated to wipe away any moisture. The doors are also mounted with the hinges at the rear edge instead of the other way around. In England, the type is called "suicide doors". The doors can be opened electrically with a push of a button from the driver's seat. The radiator ornament, which has been a subject for theft, automatically folds down into the radiators when the car is switched off. The emblems in the center of the wheels with the RR logo are movable and weighted so that the logo is always displayed in the correct direction. Customers can also choose between 44,000 color shades and choose the type of leather upholstery.

A Rolls Royce Phantom is not one of the cheaper cars to either buy or own. If you still want to experience a car like this at a celebration such as a wedding, you can rent one instead of buying. The company Hyrverk1 or Dream Car are examples of this type of exclusive rental car companies. A Rolls Royce Phantom with a driver costs around SEK 5,500 for two hours.
