BMW 750li xDrive Mini Clubman Cooper S

If there's one thing the automotive industry is good at, it's pushing boundaries, regardless of whether it's about comfort, technology, safety or functionality. We've taken a closer look at two newcomers who really make a case for cross-border moves.

BMW 750Li -xDrive – When nothing must be missing.

If you want to be sure of having the absolute latest, most comfortable and most technology-packed vehicle in the world of cars, the new BMW 750Li X-Drive is for you.

The level of technology that the new BMW 750Li xDrive is equipped with is more than a normal person can take in. But luckily, BMW has chosen to make it easy for you as a driver or passenger. The latter becomes especially clear in this extended version of the 7 Series. With 140 millimeters of extension, which can only be found in the back seat, you as a passenger get plenty of legroom. Should that not be enough, if you choose the "Executive Lounge Seating" add-on, you can push the right front seat forward and get an additional 90 millimeters together with a footrest so that you can really stretch out. But with some risk of arguments about who gets to sit in that place because the driver's seat cannot be adjusted or has the same footrest at the back. However, all passengers can enjoy massages in the seats, no one should be able to complain about a tired back after a ride in the new 750Li. Both rear seats are each equipped with a 10-inch screen with a variety of connectivity options. Between the seats is a 7-inch tablet that can control a number of the car's functions. In order, as a driver, to control systems such as telephone, stereo, etc., no button presses are needed. To raise or lower the volume, just make a circular motion in the air in front of the instrument panel. A series of other commands control the system in a very flexible way. If you would rather use a scroll wheel between the seats or point at the screen, that is also possible. Everything so that you as a driver can find the solution that works best for you. To get the absolute most optimal driving comfort, cameras are mounted that read the road in front of the car, along with GPS, the air suspension can be adjusted so that the car is always aware of what is coming. The result is outstanding and running on clouds feels completely comparable. Going into all the systems and technology this comfort machine is packed with would take the rest of the magazine and unfortunately we don't have that space this time. But once again, BMW raises the bar for what is technically possible. BMW 750Li xDrive makes the future feel passed.

Mini Clubman Cooper S – A loadable Mini

There is no doubt that the family is growing. So does the new Mini Clubman, which is now even more practical and also looks better on the coupe.

There are few car brands that have managed to boil soup on a nail in the same way that Mini has succeeded. What was only one model when BMW took over the crisis-ridden brand in 2001 has now grown and is currently five different models. The Mini Clubman model was introduced in 2007 as a more practical Mini with a smart split double door at the rear. To make it extra smooth for you when you have your hands full, it is enough to sweep your foot under the back of the car and the rear doors will open automatically. Now it's time for a major update of the Clubman. The model has grown a lot since its predecessor, 270 millimeters in length, 90 in width and 100 mm in wheelbase. Nowadays, the luggage compartment can swallow 360 liters, which is 150 liters more than the hatchback model. The slightly strange "suicide doors" on the side have now been replaced by regular conventional front and rear doors. The interior is a feast for the eyes thanks to a fantastic choice of materials and in the evening the beautiful panel lighting becomes visible. There are a range of color combinations to choose from. To make it extra clear which car you are getting in and out of, a Mini logo is projected onto the ground outside the door. With the Cooper S addition, this becomes anything but a dull car for transport between a and b. A lovely song from the tailpipes raises the pulse. If you select the Sport driving program, an illustration appears in the center console screen with a Mini that thinks of a go-kart. That's exactly how the Clubman Cooper S feels, as a small, stylish and fast but practical go-kart to maneuver through the snarky city traffic.
