SEAT Ateca

The fight in the SUV segment just got even tougher when SEAT threw in its contribution, the Ateca!

Passion and emotions have all been significant words in SEAT's product language. So also in the case of the new SUV Ateca, but here they have also added words such as urban and user-friendly. And the Ateca really is all that and a whole lot more. 

The test drive was in central Barcelona, one of Europe's hottest cities. In order to really test how good the Ateca is when the road can no longer be described as a road, a tricky obstacle course has been built down in the harbor and near Hotel W. Here you can test how steep a slope the car can handle and it is really impressive. The whole thing is considerably simplified thanks to cameras around the car that allow you to see exactly what is in the surroundings. To really challenge the driver, we get to drive a car through a cone track with covered windshields and only navigate via the cameras. Even a section of obstacles shows how well the four-wheel drive works despite only two wheels having contact with the ground. The Ateca can also be had with two-wheel drive, and then of course it cannot handle an obstacle course in this way, but fuel consumption drops. 

The engines that make available in the Ateca are between 115 horsepower and up to 190. Three diesels and two petrols. The test car with the orange color named Samoa Orange has the strongest diesel engine with 190 horses. A nice and powerful machine that really does the job efficiently together with the seven-speed automatic transmission. In mixed driving, this engine consumes only 0.5 liters per mile. 

Since SEAT belongs to the Volkswagen group, you can easily recognize it if you have driven one of the group's other brands such as Skoda or Audi, for example. Everything in the interior is laid out in a logical and easy-to-understand manner. The infotainment system, which is of the latest version, is prepared with Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link so that your smart phone is easily connected to the car. And for those who have a mobile phone with support for wireless charging, this is also available as an option. 

Just like previous SEAT models, the Ateca comes with full LED technology in the headlights. Other lighting technology that also simplifies the high beam assistant, which automatically flashes on and off when you meet or catch up with another car.

With the Ateca, SEAT shows that it has the power and passion to also build a competitive SUV. An SUV that takes you through the urban jungle both safely and comfortably.
