As you may have read, I recently drove the little brother of this F150 Raptor. Namely Ford Ranger Raptor. But now it's time for big brother!

And for those of you who may have spotted more of what I've done and who are here on CarsCollection.se, I have also and relatively recently driven Ford F150 with the addition Lightning. An all-electric F150! The Ford F150 is thus among the world's best-selling cars. In the US alone, it has been the best-selling car model for 46 years.

For those of you who have really followed me for a long time, you may have seen my article about Ford F-150 Raptor Shelby Baja Edition. It doesn't get any worse than that, but then it also costs money. A "regular" F150 Raptor is good enough for those who think the extra but don't want to go overboard. But you should still have a fat wallet even if you intend to skimp on the purchase of the picture and not go all the way for an F150 Raptor Shelby Baja Edition. The petrol tank on an F150 is a whopping 136 litres! If you want to fill up from empty and use a card, the reservation of SEK 2,000 that the gas station takes to fill up is not enough. To fill up with only a few liters left in the tank, you have to shell out around SEK 2,600! And you won't get far because the F150 Raptor drinks faster and more than the worst alcoholic.

But if we ignore the slightly bizarre gas consumption for a moment and instead take a closer look at how insanely comfortable and fun it actually is to drive a Ford F150 Raptor. Because it is and I have driven a lot of cars and know. But no, it's not a car you should take onto a race track, even if it has a sound that actually sounds like it could come from a car that sits on a race track. Because if you shift down to the second gear and lie in a tunnel with nervous windows, you get a soundtrack you won't soon forget. You'd actually want to be behind to really hear!

I have owned 5 pickups, four Volkswagen Amaroks and a Mercedes X-Class. The Ford F150 Raptor is, however, a so-called "full size", full-sized pickup. So it is significantly larger than the pickups I had. It takes a while to get used to how big the F150 actually is, but once you do, it's easy to maneuver. It is the length that you may need a little extra time to get the hang of and feel comfortable with. There is only 11 centimeters missing from the F150 Raptor being six meters long! Only in the parking space I have by my apartment did the car stick out quite a bit compared to the others that were parked. But thanks to cameras all around, you have good supervision and control. Because it is so long, the back seat and the space in front of it are larger than some apartments in central Stockholm. And everything that fits in that apartment can be taken on the flatbed when it's time to move.

After all, I have already gone through that the Ford F150 Raptor is a gasoline alcoholic of rank. But then what is it that absorbs these amounts of gasoline. Well, it's actually "just" a V6 engine. You could have thought, after the car's abysmal gas consumption, that it was because of a V8, but it is not, but only a V6. A V6 with turbo of 3.5 liters with 456 horses and 692 Newtons. My guess is that the lackluster consumption is precisely because it is "only" a V6 and that it is too small for this big car and that it has to work extremely hard and at high revs all the time. This probably contributes to the sky-high consumption. However, if you live in the USA, the F150 Raptor can be obtained with the addition R and then you get a 5.2 liter turbocharged V8 engine. Then the sound both in the car and behind would definitely have become world class!

But if we now try to ignore consumption for a moment and instead focus on how the Ford F150 Raptor actually is to drive. The interior is really well made with real leather and good materials that feel luxurious. You get comfortable here quickly! There is a long list of accessories, but if you tick it all off, it will also cost. But as I said, the F150 Raptor is not a car for the poor.

In order for the F150 Raptor to be literally ready for rough driving, Ford has been kind enough to fit shock absorbers from Fox Racing. And they can handle a lot. Despite lousy roads, it feels like the F150 Raptor is not even close to what it can be subjected to, and that too at quite high speeds.

Of course, the F150 Raptor has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless charging of the mobile phone. Other functions that are of course available are 360-degree camera view, license plate reading, adaptive cruise control and lane assist.

So if you have a wallet that allows you to spend on a more expensive means of transport and workhorse and don't need to worry about the size, then the Ford F150 Raptor is definitely the car for you. You will enjoy every mile!
