The GHIATH is a hyper-technological and mega-luxury SUV originally made for the Dubai Police by W Motors, a Dubai-based car manufacturer.

I don't want to brag but once again I am the first motoring journalist in the world to drive a W Motors model. The first time was ten years ago and W Motors model Lykan Hypersport, you can read the article here. This time it's about W Motor's new model GHIATH. A luxurious and extremely technical SUV built for the police down in Dubai and mainly the Arab countries around Dubai. I got connected to W Motors through a friend called Will Wright who took me to Dubai and introduced me to Ralph Debbas, the owner and founder of W Motors. As well as car designer Anthony Jannarelly, Anthony Jannarelly Doesn't work with W Motors anymore though. Nothing was decided that time, but we got in such good contact that suddenly I sat in the car and got to test drive it. The pictures I took were very appreciated, which led to me partly going to Monaco and helping W Motors with pictures from there and later going to the famous Goodwood Festivals of Speed car festival in England where I helped them with pictures.

Now that I have started CarsCollection.se and had a lot of EuroBonus points to withdraw, I felt it was time for a Dubai trip again. All said and done, I had booked a trip to Dubai and contacted W Motors to see if they had time to receive me. They had it. When I arrived in Dubai I went to W Motor's new location which I had not been to before. But quite quickly they told us that they would be moving to new premises two months later in the Silicon Oasis area. An area where a premises is located that is completely newly built for W Motors. Gareth, one of the people who work at W Motors took me to the new premises which are really impressive and a clear sign that things have gone well for W Motors. They will expand enormously and the new model GHIATH will have a lot of space, of course.

While we're on the topic of GHIATH, which this article is about. The name "GHIATH" was given by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, who named the car after his favorite falcon. GHIATH is a large and very luxurious SUV basically based on the Nissan Patrol. However, not much remains from a Nissan Patrol. It would be the engine possibly to name a few. But then of course trimmed and refined. The GHIATH is an extremely high-tech car specially developed for the police down here. It has a number of special things. For example, facial recognition cameras all around and on all sides. GHIATH is also equipped with infrared roof cameras and an advanced surveillance system. Inside, we find a large number of AUX screens, camera for driver behavior and manager tap that ensure the GHIATH Smart Patrol as an outstanding security and efficiency for the police. Features such as Whelen siren system, digital mirror and ADAS ANPR camera, the police are equipped for any situation. Enhanced with smart seat belts, rear police cage, and reinforced door panels. GHIATH is ready for the worst!

In terms of driving, the GHIATH feels incredibly stable. We take a day trip out to the desert, where I get to test drive the GHIATH on an asphalt road that is partly covered with blown-in sand. A normal car would probably have had problems and not managed to get over the blown sand. But GHIATH feels completely unaffected by the sand and walks as stable and safe as possible through the sand, which in some places is higher than half a meter. When we then drive into Dubai, I feel that many other road users keep a reasonable distance and no one drives past at any higher speed. However, the car I drive is not painted like a police car, but it still commands respect.

GHIATH's current model range includes Smart Patrol, SWAT, City Patrol, First Responder, VIP models. Smart Patrol is the most technically advanced version. W Motors themselves say that it is the most advanced vehicle in the world used by the police. If it's late, I'll leave it unsaid because I unfortunately have too little visibility into police cars in general. GHIATH SWAT Designed, engineered and developed by W Motors in response to the demanding requirements of SWAT team operations, the purpose-built GHIATH SWAT meets the highest industry standards for tactical response. City Patrol is a version designed to transport important people safely. Even the City Patrol has extremely advanced technology to clear any possible situation that may arise in the transportation of royalty and important political figures. The GHIATH First Responder Vehicle is at the forefront of emergency situations, quickly dispatched in the event of critical incidents, ensuring the fastest possible response time. The VIP version is intended for personal use. The vehicle offers the perfect blend of comfort, functionality and style. The GHIATH VIP is equipped with custom-made 20-inch alloy wheels.

We drive to a place that they told me about at W Motors where you can see a nice skyline of Dubai. That's where we take the pictures for this article. A place that really suits GHIATH and its attitude of being able to manage such an advanced place as Dubai which is growing every second!
